The activity forms part of the nationwide observance of the 18-Day Campaign to End VAWC.
The session was spearheaded by Atty. Jestin Mae L. Hernandez-Gonzales of the Public Attorney's Office, Lipa City District, who provided a comprehensive discussion on existing laws and policies designed to protect women and their children. Key topics included:
1. The Anti-Rape Law of 1997
2. The Safe Spaces Act (Bawal Bastos Law)
3. The Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995
4. The Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003
5. The Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2022
6. An Act Providing for Stronger Protection Against Rape and Sexual Exploitation and Abuse
An interactive open forum followed the discussion, where Atty. Ivy Joy A. Navarro-Gomez, also from the Public Attorney’s Office, joined Atty. Hernandez-Gonzales in addressing questions and clarifications from attendees.
To further demonstrate their support for the campaign, the PTC Lipa distributed food items wrapped in orange packaging.
